Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1 pound asparagus trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil plus more for asparagus
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges optional for serving
  • Red pepper flakes optional
  • Sesame seeds or sliced green onion optional

Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 small bowl
  • 1 pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  3. Place the asparagus on the baking sheet and toss with a little olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and olive oil.
  5. Place the salmon fillets on the baking sheet with the asparagus.
  6. Brush the honey garlic glaze over the salmon.
  7. Roast for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end if you want a more caramelized top.
  9. Serve warm with lemon wedges, red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, or sliced green onion if desired.

Notes

Use salmon fillets of similar thickness so they cook evenly. If using frozen salmon, thaw completely and pat dry before adding the glaze. For extra flavor, spoon a little extra glaze over the salmon before serving.
