Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings split into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Ranch dressing optional for serving
  • Blue cheese dressing optional for serving
  • Celery sticks optional for serving
  • Carrot sticks optional for serving

Equipment

  • 1 air fryer
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 tongs

Method

  1. Pat the chicken wings very dry with paper towels.
  2. Add the wings to a mixing bowl.
  3. Toss with baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until lightly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F if your model requires preheating.
  5. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  6. Air fry for 20 to 22 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. Stir the Buffalo sauce and melted butter together in a bowl.
  8. Toss the hot wings in the Buffalo sauce until coated.
  9. Serve right away with ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, celery sticks, or carrot sticks if desired.

Notes

Pat the wings very dry before seasoning for the crispiest texture. Use baking powder, not baking soda. Cook in batches if needed so the wings are not crowded in the air fryer basket.
